A typical GMT watch, such as the Arctos NATO GMT shown here, has an extra hand (in this case, the yellow hand) that travels once around the dial not every 12 hours, but every 24 hours. This hand acts as the hour hand for a different time zone. It is assumed that the minute hand is the same across most time zones.
The Angular Momentum watch is a true worldtime watch, in which the time is shown not just for two time zones but for many major cities around the world, at one glance. This is accomplished by a patented rotating disk. This is a truly beautiful and highly functional watch.
Finally, we have the award-winning Botta UNO24 watch, shown here in the black version. This is a truly rare design in the world of horology, in which both a 24-hour watch function and a one-hand watch function are combined.
RUFUS'S COMMENT
When you're ready to move beyond the normal two-hand and three-hand watch designs, the next step is naturally one-hand (Botta UNO 24) or four-hands (Arctos NATO GMT)!
Going even further off the beaten path, we have Angular Momentum's fabulous worldtimer, which substitutes a patented revolving disk technology in place of a watch hand.
Any of the watches shown here will turn heads, simply by virtue of its unusual design. The bonus is that there is a purpose to that unusual design--it introduces a level of functionality beyond the timekeeping of a regular three-hand timepiece.
